This place is vary nice and helpful. When i went at the time the vet was not in. But I did get some helpfull info and the lady's are vary nice and friendly. They checked a stray kitten that found us to see if it had a chip. The kitten didnt so that is a plus for us.

If anyone asks for a vet recommendation, I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest Hammond Animal Hospital. Doc Johnson and her staff are exceptional. I’m obsessed with my dogs, and if I ever need any medical attention or have questions, they’re always available to see me or provide answers. The prices are also reasonable.

If you’re looking for a complete lack of professionalism come to Hammond!! I’ve been coming here with my 2 dogs for 6 years (proof provide) I expect when I’m paying someone specifically for their knowledge that they’d be not only able but willing to answer simple questions. NOT HERE!! In fact the opposite, the dr will get annoyed with you for asking questions. Mind you they were questions directly connected to the well being of dogs she being paid to treat. Other questions pertained my billing. Anyone annoyed by the request and expecting people to pay hundreds of dollars without it is up to no good majority of the time. I have been debating switching our primary for a few years now. It started when she kept prescribing one of my boys simparica trio knowing he was having epileptic episodes. He only stopped taking it because I looked everything in his diet up myself (told dr multiple times and was told nothing in his diet could cause it). I found that the simparica not only should never be prescribed to dogs with history of seizure but also have A MAJOR RISK OF CAUSING SEIZURES. Which is odd considering I very directly asked for THE SAFEST. She then proceeded to scold me for stoping and refusing to purchase more. I have been keeping an even closer eye on anything my boys come in contact with since….she takes that as neglect somehow?? Really I think she’s just mad I'm refusing to continue blindly trusting her. Why would I after that? Today my bulldog came in to reevaluate his possible bladder stones. He is not due for vaccines until weeks from now - I also get my boys done together. Me choosing to wait until he is due and both dogs were present - instead of doing them early and still having to pay a wellness exam fee on top of the $200++ I was already spending. Resulted in the dr herself and her staff calling me a “penny pincher”. On top of insulting that I was not taking care of my boys properly by not wanting to pay her more than was needed at the time. I have spent over $700.00 with her in just the last month already😂😂 When asked what was included in wellness exam, I was told it was her looking him over from head to tail for $65.00. What a joke. You’re telling me between the 2 other visits this month and the over 4 hours he was there today being evaluated for bladder issues you hadn’t seen from head to tail. She in fact said no she had not looked him over once and was only looking at bladder. What?? Why would you not look over the whole dog after being brought in multiple times in 1 month to guarantee that was the core issue?? I thought my dogs were being fully looked over every time I pay an exam fee. So I guess I’m glad it happened to I could see the full extend of her lack of care and attention. Included I have the notes dr decided to leave in my dogs permanent medical file, and only 4 receipts out of the over 20 I have paid in the last 6 years. None of which are from the 3 appointments this month. All paid at time of service. I have never had issues paying my bills a single time in 6 years. I just refuse to blindly pay her anymore for reasons listed above. At this point I will choose to never give her another dime. My dogs have been fully vaccinated their entire lives. I didn’t even get what I paid for today in result of her behavior and not wanting to be berated again other than notes listed. I will have to pay someone else and go through the same testing process. All in order to get proper results and someone willing to go over them as paid for. Preventing my dog the care he needs until Monday when they can get us in. You can see by other reviews and her responses that these issues are becoming a pattern with her. 6 years with Hammond just to be called broke after spending thousands of dollars at the establishment. Personally I believe the google review rating should have reset when it became just her in practice so that people were able to see her ratings alone. Not hers mixed in with the great reviews of the previous dr.
