I currently have two Frenchies, and they are known for having health issues. To summarize, I only take them to Dr. P at Tulsa General Veterinary Hospital. His medical knowledge, staff, and the entire clinic focus on providing the best care possible for your pet. Unlike other vets, he has exam rooms like the “human” exam rooms at hospitals, where you would be present with your baby for all examinations, tests, etc. All his areas are very sanitary, and you can tour the clinic to see how they work; to me, that transparency matters for your baby’s care. Aside from the incredible medical care, vets can get expensive; for example, a couple of years back, Brody started limping, so I took him to see Dr. P. right away. Other places may want to do services you may not need, like an X-ray, because it doesn't “cost” the clinic anything to do one. I even brought it up myself, saying that I do not mind paying for the X-ray if Brody needs one, but Dr. P. did an examination and said we do not need to do an X-Ray as of now, which, to me, signified his honesty and not trying to add services you may not even need. Sure enough, Brody got prescription medication and was back to normal. **Edit/Update** September 2026 Both of my Frenchies have been in Dr. P.’s care for the past 4-5 years, and for any Frenchie owner: they are expensive pups, and you need a vet who treats the actual problem instead of running up the bill. Bambi, like most Frenchies, had terrible allergies and skin problems, and until we started seeing him, nothing worked. With his care and follow-up appointments, those issues are gone. She also had back issues and a possible IVDD. Frenchie owners know how scary that term is. I took her to many other vets and was told she may need surgery, and after so many sleepless nights, Dr. P. put her on a routine plan, and it worked. Same honest approach as with Brody: no extra tests or products just to pad the bill, but do what they both needed. That’s why I still only take them to Dr. P. and will continue to do so!
